Tartan 30 Design 2016
The Tartan 30 was introduced in 1971. Built by Douglass & McLeod, the boat was produced until 1980. 602 boats were built during the production run. The design was in great part a response to the MORC (Midget Ocean Racing Club) Rule. The boats were also offered with a 3/4 tonner rig configuration (IOR Rule). The boats are virtually bullet proof.
Putting her racing roots aside (and the pretty respectable race record) she has been touted as a great boat for weekend cruising for a couple, perhaps with a child or occasional guest.
Here are the plans.
